Yamaha EZ-AC MIDI Guitar

Yamaha EZ-AC MIDI Guitar

Manufactured by Yamaha, this MIDI guitar can be used as a standalone guitar synthesizer, or it can be used to receive MIDI data from a sequencer, or it can be used to compose music, and probably other uses that do not come to mind right now.

I was hoping to find one of these used, but could not find one, so I bought it new at a local Daddys Junky Music store.

I have this setup on the MOTU (Mark of the Unicorn) MIDI Timepiece AV, MTP/AV such that the 6 MIDI channels from the EZ-AG are routed from their built-in 6 MIDI channels, to just one MIDI channel and that channel is routed to one channel of one MIDI input on a sound module, running a patch such as 12-string acoustic guitar or a fretless bass.

If you are looking for a guitar to learn with, then this may fit the bill, as the synthesizer effects can overcome the monotony of practicing the same chords over and over.

About this Webpage

I have created this webpage as a method to document and share our MIDI Music Studio setup and usage, for others who might want to do something similar.
